Existing directory url does not match expected url

I am completely new to SVN, and I have a turtle client installed. I was instructed to upload the repository to my local folder so that I could view files and get to know them.

However, when I select SVN Update, I get the following message:

Url XXX of existing directory XXX does not match expected Url XXX

I looked using the Repo browser and I can confirm that there are two folders with the same name (but different cases), and I expect that this is what causes the problem, however, since these are not my files, I can’t add any changes.

Everything seemed to be fine until I canceled the previous update, because it stopped responding.

Any ideas?

Windows simply cannot handle two files / folders with the same name, different only in case. Because Windows treats them like a single file / folder.

This means that you cannot check / update / the entire full and full working copy from such a repository. The only way to do this is to switch to a Linux system with a case-insensitive file system.

Or better: ask someone to change the name of one of these files / folders.
