How to create an installer and uninstaller for a Windows Forms application

Question

I created an installer for my Windows Forms application, and I added project output to the program menu. But now I want "I had a folder in the program menu, since it should contain both installation and uninstall options."

If you have advanced scripts that the installation and deployment project cannot handle, I would recommend exploring WiX .

WiX is an extremely mature open source Microsoft project, first released in 2004 and still in force. It even provides a VS extension to help you get started and run intellisense for configuration.

We’ll warn you: WiX primarily uses XML files that use the MSI domain language. This, of course, is not a tool that you use unless “create an installer” was specifically highlighted in your project plan.
