I sometimes have to look at dumps of streams from a Tomcat server. However, this is a very slow process, as my application uses thread pools with several hundred threads. Most thread dumps I'm looking at include the same stack trace for many threads, since they do not work while waiting for work.
Are there any tools that will analyze the stream dump and show only unique stack traces along with a counter of the number of threads in each state? This will allow me to quickly ignore the tens or hundreds of threads that are waiting in a common place to work.
I tried the Flow Dump Analyzer , but this does not summarize the general stack traces.
