How to show a toast notification from a WPF application?

Question

I am creating a WPF 4 application and I want to display the message in a nicely formatted field in a separate window in the lower right corner of the screen.

I really like the Evernote popup when the application is synchronized with the main server.

How to do it?

Am I just creating a new window in my application and a new window displaying my message, and then use a timer to close it, or is there a better way?
