Unable to add shadow for input elements

Question

It seems that I can’t add shadows for inputting input elements, my CSS is kind of like http://jsfiddle.net/DLCTh/ and as you can see it is applied correctly on div elements, but not on text inputs, I have something missing out? Or can't I do that?

This is from abroad at the entrance. Add border: no; and it should work.
