What is Microsoft as the default company and copyrights for project settings in Visual Studio?

I noticed that when I enter the Assembly Information dialog box, for a project created in

  • Visual studio 2010
  • Visual C # / Basic 2010 Express

... the company and copyright fields do not apply to Microsoft (...) by default. How odd ? If a developer had to forget about it, Microsoft practically marks the software made by others as their own.

Is there a way to change the default settings for this?

This is part of the default templates. You can add your own or replace the default values. For more information, see Visual Studio Templates - in particular, Creating Project Templates .
