How to get a Windows application on the taskbar to show progress bar progress

One of the features introduced in Windows 7 (or Vista?) Is the ability of the application taskbar button to show the progress of the progress bar in this application. When I create a form and put a progress bar in it, it does not appear on the taskbar, so I assume that it is not done automatically. How can I get Windows 7 to show the progress bar on the application taskbar?

This can be easily done using the ITaskList3 COM interface.

You can also use the TTaskbarListProgress component from the TaskbarListComponents of an open source component package. Released under dwywbdbu .
