Well, as it turned out, the support was lightning fast and provided me with an Android SDK that answers the second question that I had.
The Said SDK comes with an example project, as well as a user manual and SDK API (unfortunately, the jar SDK file does not contain javadoc ...). I have to say that the SDK API ... is poorly written and has no depth, in addition, some methods used in the example project are not considered at all (for example, “initialize”, which, in my opinion, sounds pretty important and necessary. ..). However, looking at the sample, you get an idea of how to use the SDK. It covers everything from connecting via Wi-Fi, USB or Bluetooth (which answers my first question).
If someone needs an SDK / Sample Project, I suggest emailing bixolon support guy via techsupp@bixolon.de to get the most up-to-date SDK. I did NOT find the Android SDK on the Bixolon website! The only SDK I found was related to .Net.
UPDATE
In a further note: It turns out that the SDK is not really needed. We reset the SDK and created two streams: one that accepts connection requests (for connecting to the printer) and the other that (after establishing the connection) has a BluetoothSocket and writes to it / reads it. This has the advantage that we can use it with any mobile printer, since it is no longer Bixolon.
For more Bluetooth related information, check out this Q&A , where I documented the steps to contact Bixolon (and Fujitsu) to communicate with Android devices.
UPDATE 2
Since I walked past this post recently and looked at it, here are some additional links for the Bixolon SPP-R200:
- Download for Bixolon SPP-R200 (drivers, manuals, manuals, etc.)
- Bixolon SPP-R220 Product Overview
- There is a Q&A section on the Bixolon website here . However, first you need to create an account to see the answers in the Q & A. section. If you type “android” in the search box, several answers will appear - however, since I do not have an account, I did not read them, but it can be worth the shot .
