Cheap SSL vs expensive SSL

Question

I was wondering what distinguishes SSL certificate from verisign, http://www.verisign.com/ssl/buy-ssl-certificates/compare-ssl-certificates/index.html

which is expensive, and a certificate from godady, which is cheap though, http://www.godaddy.com/ssl/ssl-certificates.aspx

Is it more secure or browser compatible? Do they both generate public / private certificate keys?

All about trust. Verisign is a more authoritative authority than GoDaddy, so they offer a higher price. Verisign also verifies the legitimacy of your organization, while GoDaddy verifies your domain ownership.
