Eclipse editor:

Sometimes this arrow appears, so I donโ€™t see if a breakpoint is set. Can I remove this arrow using a shortcut? Thanks.

I think the yellow arrow is the search result icon. He knows this sounds silly: /. You just have to close the search bar and the arrow will go. Is this a fix?

The arrow disappears if you close the search result, not the search view. If you press X or XX in the search box, it will hide / delete the yellow arrow.

In Eclipse Help โ†’ Help Contents โ†’ Search icons .

Select the Editor area marker link and you will see that the yellow icon is the Search Result icon. Whenever you perform a search and the result is found, the icon shows which line he found it in.

We have another way to check if any breakpoint is set in the line without masking the arrow icon. It just hovers over the arrow icon, Eclipse will display a pop-up window to state what is set (including the breakpoint) on this line.

Another way to clean the arrows:

  • Find the Show Previous Searches icon on the toolbar of the search panel (looks like a flashlight icon with a document that has a down arrow attached)
  • Click the Dropdown arrow icon.
  • Select Clear History.

This will clear your search history for the current session and remove all yellow arrows in the editor without completely closing the search tab.

Window | Show View | Search Window | Show View | Search Click the Xx icon in the search box. Clearing the search will remove the arrows.

The easiest way to clear the arrow (without turning off completely) is to simply perform another search.

I tried other approaches (closing the search bar, closing the file) and nothing worked.
