How to access webkit-fake-url

Using Safari (5.1.3) on OS X (10.7.3).

When the div is set to contenteditable = "true", I can insert an image into it and see it. I can also drag the image and see it.

I can also, as soon as he drags it there in the editable area.

The image has this markup ...

<img src="webkit-fake-url://8498873E-AAE1-478E-9731-A97A10CD7FEC/image.tiff">

Is there any known documentation about this. A google search already returns many people asking the same question.

I would like to be able to send this image to the server.

Yes, you can edit the contents of any element. See the documentation for more details. You can continue the experiment to find out if it can be used to send images to the server. Not even with a simple GET / POST, you can always send editable element content using javaScript / jQuery ajax.
