Is the generated subprocess considered a new speaker on Heroku?

I just moved from Epio to Heroku and after reading their new process model, I was wondering how Heroku handled the subprocesses. Frequently asked questions: you can create subprocesses , but does not describe any consequences of this.

Does each subprocess calculate a new speaker for which you have to pay? If so, would Gunicorn not be used as expensive, since it pre-extends its subprocesses? Finally, since Heroku isolates its processes, how can you communicate with your subprocesses?

Subprocesses are handled by a single dyno.

I'm not a python developer, but I use Unicorn on my Heroku (Rails) sites, usually with four subprocesses contained in the same dynamics. The number of subprocesses you create should be mindful of memory consumption - you get 512 MB per dyno to play with.
