How to get google transit data using api

I am working on a dissertation project to make a navigation system "integrated indoor / outdoor" for mobile devices (especially Iphone).

I need public transport information until a few days ago I used this service: http://www.google.com/m/directions

but for some reason it no longer works.

I saw that there are Google API directions, but they only work in walking, bikel, driving mode and do not work for "transit mode" .

Then I saw that there is no public API for the Google Transit service.

I was wondering if there is an “API” or “way” to retrieve data from public transport?

Many public transport agencies provide information on their route in the format of a common transit channel specification (GTFS). In fact, this is a format used by state transit agencies to send their information to Google.

You can find the transit agency you are interested in at http://www.gtfs-data-exchange.com/ or search them at https://code.google.com/p/googletransitdatafeed/wiki/PublicFeeds . You can learn more about GTFS at https://developers.google.com/transit/gtfs/reference .

Of course, you will have to write your own code for data analysis, perhaps save it in the database and determine the best route from point A to point B. But you also do not need to worry about someone else, the service suddenly stops working for you. (The worst that can happen is http://www.gtfs-data-exchange.com/ , in which case you need to find another way to update the data.)

and thanks for submitting your question. I am also working on a similar transit project myself, and I think, in order to answer your question, the best answer was provided here:

stack overflow

I would like for me to have something original for myself, but I'm trying to use the data that my city provides and to develop my own algorithm that serves as a travel planner. In no case is this a difficult task, but I think that separates good developers from mediocre ones. Please contact me if you have any ideas, and I hope you will succeed in your draft dissertation.

Take care. Yours faithfully; Fayyaz
