Tridion: "Item posted. Failed to delete page." error when the page was not published

When I try to unpublish and delete the page, Tridion returns an 'Item has been published. Failed to delete the page.' Errors and refuses to delete it.

I confirmed that the files were successfully printed for both purposes, and in the publication publication were marked “Successfully” in the publication.

In the CM database tables, it looks like there are additional entries in the ITEM_STATES and PUBLISH_STATES tables associated with this page id. These additional lines have STATE = 1 (which I assume are published) and COMPONENT_TEMPLATE_REF_ID = NULL. Here's what it looks like in SQL AFTER unpublishing:

Is it safe for me to (1) reset the Status field in these tables or (2) completely delete the rows?

We just upgraded to Tridion 2011 SP 1 from Tridion 2011, and it looks like this is the beginning after this conversion. We publish only one publication. This publication has two goals (if that matters).

Known issue with SDL Tridion 2011 SP1. Pay attention to this fix: https://www.sdltridionworld.com/images/CM_2011.1.0.77065_tcm89-20293.zip (login required)

I do not recommend updating or deleting anything in the database, as this may invalidate your warranty and support agreement.

I ran into this problem when changing publishing goals and their configuration during published pages. After changing the pub’s purpose, the page simply remained in the CM in “published” status, and you cannot publish or delete it.

The permission was to contact Support, which provided an SQL script that deleted these dead pages.

Make sure that the "publishable" checkbox (in the structure structure properties) is still checked.
