Full Screen Windows / Chrome / ATI / Browser on Multiple Monitors

I am using the following test setup (last value since July 14, 2012):

  • Core i7 with ATI FirePro V9800 (Eyefinity)

  • Windows 7 Pro 64 bit (latest updates / patches)

  • Latest Catalyst Drivers

  • Latest Google Chrome Stable / Canary.

  • 6 x 1080p displays (per line), bringing 11520px to the desktop 1080px .

I tried the following to get fullscreen webview through displays:

  • Set the maximum setting for the entire desktop in the Catalyst control panel. This works to maximize regular windows (except Chrome), but not for anything in full screen.

  • I tried Chrome Kiosk mode (it would be perfect), the same problem, only fills the main screen.

  • Using the Full Screen API Full Screen or HTML5, you get the same thing: full screen mode on one of the 6 monitors.

  • IE9 has a limit of about 10,000 pixels for web browsing, so I can't even stretch it all over the desktop manually (which works with Chrome).

  • Tried UltraMon.

  • I tried a number of Chrome command line switches (http://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/) for kiosk mode, start in full screen mode, etc., so right now - -app = "http: //127.0.0.1/index.html "to at least get rid of most elements of the Chrome interface.

  • I tried to find an extension for Chrome, but did not succeed.

  • Tried Chrome Frame in IE9, also uses only one display.

I understand that this is most likely a driver issue reporting the wrong size of the Chrome desktop (which I thought was the Catalyst Maximize point for the full desktop size function). Chrome does not seem to get the desktop size from the same place as other "normal" windows (obviously, they are not very familiar with Windows windows).

I would like to work on a full-screen Chrome webview on multiple monitors or a completely chrome-free window that I can manually zoom in. My browser configuration is flexible, even the OS is quite flexible.

I'd like to know:

  • Has anyone received a full-screen browser view of more than one monitor to work with Chrome (or any browser)?

  • Are there any tools that can fake the correct (full) screen size in Chrome?

  • Could this work on Windows 8?

  • Is there something that just displays the Chromeless Chrome browser that launches the latest Chrome? (I saw awesomium, but I think its price is too high for what I want to do). I also want to be able to use the latest versions of Chrome ideally.

Any comments are welcome and sorry for the long details.

Thanks for reading! -Tobi

This can do this starting with Chrome 22 (Chrome Packaged Apps):

I will report :)

This worked for me using two monitors:

start C: \ Users \ terminal \ AppData \ Local \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe --app = "http://www.domain1.com" --window-position = 0,0 - kiosk --user -data-dir = c: / monitor1

start C: \ Users \ terminal \ AppData \ Local \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe --app = "http://www.domain2.com" --window-position = 1680.0 - kiosk --user -data-dir = c: / monitor2

I think the order of the parameters matters.
