How to reset keystores when you don't know their password?

For some reason, I received this message:

keytool error: java.io.IOException: Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect

I know that I cannot “restore” the keystore, but I want to reset the keystore, but I don’t know how to do it, especially because I don’t know the location of the underlying keystores.

Note. I just want them to be "empty", so I restart by default. However, I could not even find their location.

How can I list the underlying key stores and their locations using keytool or something similar?

Just delete the ~/.keystore , which is the default keystore location.
