Google Geocharts: Regions and markers on one map?

I am experimenting with Google GeoCharts . I have state data and city data that I want to display above city data. This means that I want to use the geochart regions and markers display mode at the same time. Can this be done or faked? I can’t find a way, but I was wondering if anyone else has success.

As indicated in the mode documentation, the parameter can be region or marker . Therefore, they could not be used together. I would recommend that you try the jVectorMap library that supports this behavior.

with CSS hackers, you can use the marker mode and color of the region you want. This isn’t easy, you need to know which “child” path to the SVG map you want to color, and develop advanced CSS rules.

For example:

 #map_canvas path:nth-child(57) { fill:#cccccc; }

Check out the latest example of this page from my site: http://cmoreira.net/interactive-world-maps-demo/advanced-customization/

Hope this helps! Greetings

VectorWorkz GeoChart allows you to define region color snapping and marker snapping in the same instance, take a look at the VectorWorkz online demo .

I could do this by overlapping two region charts, one for markers (using absolute divs with z-index)

you need to use transparent color as the style for the marker layer backgroundColor: transparent, datalessRegionColor: transparent, defaultColor: transparent and place it on the top layer

or maybe put one chart with the type “marker” over another type of “region”? :)
