I am looking for recommendations on tools for automatically deploying Windows Service on multiple machines. The tool should be able to: - Stop / start the service - Copy files - Change configuration files on each target server in accordance with some CSV / Excel file
Advantages: web interface, email notification, compression / decompression
Here are the tools that I heard about, and I'm starting to evaluate, but I would like to hear from people who actually applied one of these (or some other tools) in the process of automatic deployment.
PS There is a similar question about SO, but it does not answer my question: deploying WCF services - tools
Answering machine Q: How many servers do you plan to use? A: There are currently 20 servers in 2 data centers. Numbers May Grow In The Future
Q: How many users will be involved in the design and implementation of the deployment? A: A deployment could be developed, and someone else (one person) will execute it.
Q: Does your deployment require synchronization between tiers? A: I need to deploy only one Windows service, no changes to the database, neither IIS, nor another web tier
Q: How important are audit and reporting? A: I would like the tool to let you know if it succeeded or not. It would also be nice to see a complete panel of all deployed servers with their versions and recent changes.
