What is RemoteControlClient in Android 4.0?

I know the rules of StackOverflow and therefore apologize in advance for asking such a subjective question.

I tried the documentation , but all he says is:

RemoteControlClient allows you to display information intended for consumption using a remote control that can display metadata, cover art and media buttons of the transport control.

The remote control client object is associated with the event of the media button receiver. This event receiver must be previously registered with registerMediaButtonEventReceiver (ComponentName) before RemoteControlClient can be registered via registerRemoteControlClient (RemoteControlClient).

I do not know about others, but for me this documentation is not enough for it to have such a cool name as "RemoteControlClient" .

I searched a lot of forums for this, but unfortunately this concept is still not clear.

It would be really grateful if someone would help me understand this, how it works, and most importantly, what it all can do.

Thanks in advance and apologize for asking a subjective question.

The new RemoteControlClient allows media players to include playback controls from remote control clients, such as a device lock screen. Media players can also display information on the media currently playing for display on the remote control, such as track information and album art.

and a few more paragraphs on this subject.

He also indicates:

For an example implementation, see Random Music Player , which provides compatibility logic that allows the remote control client on Android 4.0 devices to continue supporting devices back on Android 2.1.
