How to display Retina icons (32x32) in Google Chrome?

Using Chrome on my Retina MacBook Pro, I cannot get favicon with a higher resolution (32x32) in my blog to download first. When I first open the page ( http://insofar.org ), the 16x16 version is displayed, and only on reboot does 32x32 appear. As an alternative example, when loading a Daring Fireball , its 32x32 icon first loads. And yes, I cleared my cache.

In both cases, we use the following tag in the chapter section:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/path/to/favicon.ico">

where favicon.ico contains both 32x32 and 16x16 versions.

How can I get 32x32 to display Retina?

EDIT: I found that the problem was fixed in the latest version of Google Chrome Canary (v24.0.1300.0).

You should try Faviconer.com - designed to create 16x16 and retina 32x32 favicon.ICO files. You can draw a new icon from scratch or upload any graphic image and convert it to .ICO format.

Here is the link - http://faviconer.com

For import, http://xiconeditor.com/ worked very well for me. It creates ico with sizes 16, 24, 32, 64.

I suggest first creating your image with your editor in different sizes, and then import each to maintain quality.
