Does ADO work with ODBC drivers or only with OLE DB providers?

I am trying to create some VBA code to automate the creation of a dashboard in a PostgreSQL database. I heard that the OLE DB driver is unreliable, and it looks like it was not affected after a few years. Does ADO work with the ODBC driver?
