Well, for normal fields, you should use a comma to separate the values. For example, to include the BETWEEN 4 AND 5 clause in your query, simply write 4, 5 in this entry. In your case, entering 2012-11-29, 2012-11-30 should do the trick.
Interestingly, the current version of phpMyAdmin (3.5.1) simply does not allow commas to enter data associated with the datetime column.
