When editing code in Visual Studio (in my case in 2012), I like that it automatically inserts quoutes for property values. If I can select the appropriate value from the Intellisense list and press Tab to paste it, the cursor moves from the quotes, which is great. However, when I need to enter a unique value, Tab simply inserts a tab character. I constantly press the right arrow key to leave quotes, which is inconvenient.

I would suggest a more convenient way to leave quotes , but what is it?

Good question.

Click 'Double Quote' ( shift + ' ) to close the quote (not the right arrow) . There will not be two quotes. VS will simply close the quote, and you will not have to move your hand to press the right arrow key.

In Visual Studio, using intellisence and quotation marks are automatically inserted, as you stated, which is nice. Instead of pressing the right arrow key to move around a closed quote; above is another way you might like that will hold the keys to your home keys.

If you simply type a (optional) closing quote, the cursor will move outside the quotation marks without creating an extraneous quote and without requiring you to transfer your hand to the arrow keys. The same goes for automatically generated closing parentheses and curly braces.
