Flash Builder 4.7 commercial application - no design

Question

I have programmed a large mobile application on a commercial level using Flash Builder 4.6. It works GREAT when it works on both iOS and Android devices.

I used the trial version of Flash Builder 4.6 to develop this application. I used the state function built into FB to handle Portrait, Landscape, and Phone / Tablet configurations. This means that I built 4 different layouts for all 8 of my views in my mobile application. Using design in FB 4.6 allowed me to do this.

I have to say that I LOVE Flash Builder so far. GREAT tool.

My trial ended only last week. I had to buy version 4.7 of the software, only to find out that they REMOVE the design view from the software.

All complaints to the side that other programmers are in the same boat, how did I do this as a solution? I would like to continue programming in AS and Flash Builder, as I took the time to write an application and explore the entire platform.

As of now, now I am reviewing my keys for the difference from 4.7 to 4.6, but for this I had to RETURN my retail version of the FB 4.7 premium (purchased on the Internet) and buy the version, (NOT through adobe, only allowed to do this through an intermediary such as CDW). then, as soon as I have a key for 4.7 through volumetric collection, it can be reduced to 4.6.

I hope to receive information from others in the same boat. Have you changed programming languages? if so, why? Have you changed the IDE? If so, then what?

I just upgraded to 4.7 today, after using 4 for a year to develop the application. Ironically, I had to upgrade because some bizarre quirks were developed in the design that made it unusable (if someone else gets the idea, constantly trying to update themselves and skipping it, I found that I switched to the older Flex SDK , and then returned to the original alone, fixed it!).

I literally could not believe that the design look disappeared, and the attitude “take it or leave it” to the guys on the Adobe forums. The comparison with HTML / CSS (which they have a cheek to do) is false because you don’t have to wait for the page to be compiled every time you want to view it!

I have always been a supporter of Flash over the past few years of an openly ridiculous fake war with HTML5, realizing that for the most part this was because Apple did not want people to play free flash games when they could pay for them ! The platform gives you many advantages: advanced, statically typed, true OO language, cross-browser continuity, excellent IDEs - this is simply not the case in HTML / CSS / JS.

I had to work on a project that I am currently working on in Flash for a long time, and explaining this to the skeptics who have just played the software is a massive, targeted blow to the nuts!

The apple / flash phase has subsided now, I was hoping Adobe would continue, as always, but they seemed to decide to dump the thousands of developers who carried the torch for them, this is just one more step back.

I cannot support my support for technology when even its architects do not seem to care about it anymore. This project will be the last when I use Flash.

You can install both 4.6 and 4.7 for the same computer. I use 4.6 for design, 4.7 for coding.

Flash Builder, in any case, is not the place for "design". Adobe has been making the "best design" for many years. This is much better than representing the FB design when creating assets from comlplex image / illustrator files, placing different images inside characters, and organizing the scene and animation. It is also easily integrated into the code of the embedded Flash module. It is called Flash Professional.
