Why does the market not show the system application in “my applications” when an update is available?

First I asked this question: Is it possible to update the system application?

I did a little experiment that was able to confirm this answer:

I just added the application to / system / app with the same package, the keystore and the lower version in the manifest, and after rebooting I see the application on the mailbox (the application is really installed - I manage to do this using the root phone).

But now the market does not show the application in the "My Applications" list ... but when I look for it in the market, it appears as installed and having an update.

The update can be done there (as indicated here Is it possible to update the system application? ) Without problems.

The real question is: Why does the market not show the installed application in My Applications? Is it because it has not been installed from the market itself? But why do Google Maps appear?

It is the matter of time? Or should I do something for the market to recognize it?

As I recall, Google first packaged its applications as system applications. But from 2.1 (I don’t remember exactly) they started using them as regular applications. And, according to them, the explanation was something like "we want to update our applications more often so that you can download updates from the Android market and do not need to wait for a new version of the Android system in which new system applications were installed." In addition, I read a message from the ROM developer in which they added some kind of application to the system application / application (folder with the system application), and that it did not behave the way you want (the downloaded application on the market with a larger version does not updated their system application and behaved like another application regarding its installation). Some others report that when they install the market version of the application, android removes their system application with the same package name and leaves only this version of the application from the market installed as a regular application. So, I would say that you cannot achieve the desired behavior.

According to the approved answer, system applications cannot be displayed in MyApp and updated.

This question may have been asked and answered too long, but according to the Google Developers site , it seems that system applications should appear in MyApps and may be updated.

Custom system applications (including any pre-loaded applications) are displayed in the My Applications section of the user’s device in the Google Play store as soon as an application with the same package name is downloaded to the Google Play Developer Console, even if the application is not published.

according to the same page, Google Play may manage updates for pre-loaded applications, subject to the following conditions:

The preloaded application must be located in the system section. The preloaded application must be free. The preloaded application must be signed with the same signature as the application published on Google Play. The name of the package of the preloaded and updated application must be the same. The version code of the updated application must be larger than in the preinstalled application
