Getting weird characters in the Eclipse IDE that I cannot select or delete

I get these strange characters all of a sudden. I suppose I accidentally turned around, but I'm not sure what it is. Any help would be appreciated.

and unplug it.

You accidentally installed Eclipse to display spaces. You can fix it here:

Window >> Preferences >> General >> Editors >> Text Editors: [x] Show whitespace characters

This is a "visible space". Shows tabs, spaces and line breaks.

In the "Settings" section, select "General"> "Editors"> "Text Editors" and uncheck "show whitespace."

These are whitespace characters. The hotkey to turn them off is CTRL . (this is the period).
