I tried to work with Tab . I am using DW CS6 in the presentation of code for programming and was glad to know that it is available for DW. Unfortunately, as @Andy says, it doesn't quite work out of the box.
First of all, the shortcut Ctrl + E is used for the "Tag Selection" window in DW. The next thing is that Tab does not work out of the box, as is the case with other IDEs.
After a little experiment about how the Tab key works on extending an abbreviation, I did this:
I wrote the word Tab somewhere, and I copied it to my clipboard, went to the preference Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Commands > Emmet > Expand Abbreviation , and I right-clicked in the "Press a Key:" box at the bottom and pasted the word there Tab, then I clicked Change and then OK , and now my Tab works with Expand Abbreviation .
A lot of people can find this as a big downside, now the Tab key will no longer be a tab, but I think this is fine for me because I like to use the Double Space indentation and I don't use Tab because different IDEs read it with more or fewer places, so the code sometimes gets a little crooked when saving from an IDE to an IDE.
And last but not least ... I also tried to make ASCII code for Tab , which is actually but this does not seem to work.
I hope that this answer will also help everyone who wants to use Tab , and do not mind that it will only work with Expand Abbreviation .
