I can not start SQL Server browser

I cannot start the SQL Server browser from SQL Service Configuration Manager 2008. There are absolutely no options to start the service. It is disabled as the image shown below. How can I start the service again?

If it is disabled, go to Control Panel-> Administrative Tools-> Services and find the SQL Server Agent. Right-click and select Properties. From the Startup Type drop-down list, change the Disabled value to Automatic.

Make sure that you run the SQL Server Configuration Manager snap-in as an administrator if UAC is enabled. Then right-click the service and then click properties, change the startup mode to enabled, then start it.

By clicking "Properties", go to the "Service" tab and set "Start" to "Automatic" to fix the problem. Now the "Start" element in the context menu is again active.

My approach was similar to @SoftwareFactor, but different, perhaps because I am running another OS, Windows Server 2012. These steps worked for me.

Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services , right-click SQL Server Browser > Properties > General tab , change the Startup type to Automatic , click the Apply button, and then click the Start button in the Service Status .

go to the "Services" section, find the SQL Server browser, right-click โ†’ "Properties" โ†’ "General" tab โ†’ "Startup Type" โ†’ select automatic. Then return to configuration management, run it.

right-click the browser and SQL Server properties, then the Connection tab and select an open session with the system account, not that account. then apply and select automatic and finally start the server.
