Moving multiple nodes using Gephi

It’s hard for me to drag and drop multiple nodes on the screen using Gephi. The multi-select button allows me to select multiple nodes, but not move them around the screen. Could this be a system problem (running Ubuntu on Mac)? I searched the Internet, but to no avail. Does anyone else have this problem?

To drag multiple nodes in Gephi, use the cylinder tool, which is part of the drag tool (Fist icon).

  • While the Drag and Drop tool is selected in the upper left corner of the Chart window next to the word Drag and Drop, click the blue word (Customize) as shown below.

  • Set the diameter to something larger than one, and you will see a gray disk, which allows you to drag and drop all nodes located on the disk.

  • To "close" the tool, i.e. restore it to 1-pixel drag, set the diameter back to 1.

You want to use the cylinder tool - http://forum.gephi.org/viewtopic.php?t=20 . Make sure the diameter is something larger than one, and you will see a circle that allows you to select multiple nodes within its borders.
