I have seen this keyboard shortcut in several applications. And I really like it!

What it is? Is it available for use in native applications?

The control you are trying to find does not exist in the open source world. It is also not based on ShortcutRecorder, its completely custom.

Unfortunately, I do not plan to open it, well, not soon if I decide to open it.

The control you are linking to can be based on a Cocoa structure called ShortcutRecorder , which makes it easy to embed shortcuts and settings in your Programs. On the website:

It comes with an Interface Builder palette, it is customizable and resolution independent, and it is already used in applications. Thanks to your BSD license, you can also use it and adapt it if you need to.

However, the controls are no longer compatible with Xcode4 , and you may prefer newer alternatives such as MASShorcut . The project is actively supported on GitHub and has good documentation. You can check out the demo here .

There are other interesting related controls, such as SS_PrefsController , that can help build a portion of the interface.
