WiX Heat tool, create a component with the Win64 attribute

Is there a way to generate a file using the heat tool, which will have a Win64 attribute in the Component sections?

The problem is that in my 64-bit installer, most of the files are 32-bit components that should be marked as Win64="no" in Component . I use the heat tool to create them, so an additional manual step is required, and this speeds up our automatic assembly.

UPDATE The short answer is β€œno” (which is marked as the answer), I believe that I will just go with some additional tool that will do the job.

Heat.exe does not have a switch for this, but candle.exe does. Download -arch x64 to the command line of candle.exe and it will set the default values for the platform, components, etc.

By the way, the question was originally asked here .

I know this is old, but he was just looking for the same problem, and it happened.

I found that you can still use Heat if you add "-arch x64" to the advanced compiler options in the "Tool Options" in the Wix project properties.
