The netsh wlan start hostednetwork command does not work no matter what i try

C: \ Windows \ system32> netsh wlan show drivers

Interface Name: Wireless Network Connection

I turned it off and on again many times. It’s still not clear what is going wrong, I always get an error

"C: \ Windows \ system32> netsh wlan start hostednetwork The hosted network could not be started. The device connected to the system does not work."

Teams work fine before. Also activated a virtual adapter and all.

 netsh wlan show hostednetwork

C: \ Windows \ system32> netsh wlan show hostnetwork

Installed Network Settings

Mode : Allowed SSID name : "Lathiyas" Max number of clients : 100 Authentication : WPA2-Personal Cipher : CCMP

Host Network Status

 Status : Not started

Then he tried to stop the hosting network and repeated another error. I think there are some problems with the drivers. Dell N5010 Windows 7-32bit. Please, help.

First of all, go to the device manager, then go to the menu "View" → "Show hidden devices." Then go to the network adapters and find out about the Microsoft Hosted Virual Adapter network .... Right-click and enable this option ....

Then go to the command prompt with administrator rights and enter the following commands:

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow netsh wlan start hostednetwork

Your hostednetwork will work without problems.

Same problem.

I solved the problem by first activating (right-clicking and choosing activation) from the control panel (network connections), and then going into installation mode to enable (using the netsh command), finally, launch the host network using another netsh command, i.e.

1.- Activate (network connections) by right-clicking

2.-netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow

3.-netsh wlan start hosted network

Lucky!

First, just remove the drivers and Wi-Fi software; just keep the wifi + drivers from the device manager .... network adapters ... remove all virtual connections

then

Press the Windows + R key combination to open the launch window, type ncpa.cpl and press enter.

netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow ssid = "How-To Geek" key = "Pa $$ w0rd"

netsh wlan start hostednetwork

netsh wlan show hostnetwork

its work for me and other PCs.

If none of the above solutions help you, find the Wi-Fi adapter in "Control Panel \ Network and Internet \ Network Connections", right-click it and select "Diagnostics", then follow the instructions on the screen. It worked for me.

If you have a Wi-Fi button or switch on your laptop, make sure it is turned on! Then use the netsh commands that other people have stated

This was a real problem for me, and a pretty tricky problem to try to fix ...

The problem I ran into was that the module installed on my WiFi adapter was in conflict with the Microsoft virtual adapter (or whatever it was actually called there).

Fix this:

  1. Hold the Windows key + press R
  2. Type: ncpa.cpl in the box and click OK .
  3. Determine the network adapter that you want to use for the hosted network, right-click it and select " Properties .
  4. In the middle of the properties window, you will see a large frame under the heading The connection uses the following items: Look at the list of everything that seems unusual, and remove it. Hit OK .
  5. Try running the netsh wlan start hostednetwork .
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 as necessary.

In my case, a module called SoftEther Lightweight Network Protocol worked on my adapter, which I believe is used to connect to VPN Gate VPN servers through SoftEther software.

If literally nothing else works, then I suspect that something similar to the problem I encountered, namely, that the module on your network adapter is interfering with the hostednetwork aspect of your driver.
