Try to verify that the Apache and MySQL services are still registered as services.

Look in Windows Services for services called "wampapache" and "wampmysql"

Or if you have WAMPServer 64bit wampapache64 and wampmysqld64

If they do not exist, follow these steps: -

wampmanager -> MySQL -> Service -> Install Service wampmanager -> Apache -> Service -> Install Service

Then try restarting all services.

After updating the window to window 8.1.

Please click on the wamp icon, go to apache, then click on the installation services. And then go to mysql and services and click "Install Services" and restart your Wamp. And enjoy your coding. Hurry up

I also survived this situation. I checked the services and the wampapche and wampmysqld services are disabled there. I tried to start the services, and the service did not start reporting error 1058. Then I changed the startup type from manual to automatic, and now it works.

all your answers are wrong, not only wampserver, but xampp does not work on Windows 8.1 because the Apache server does not work on Windows 8.1 with port 80, because port 80 is a system reserved port.

@Ahmed as described above. The simple answer is that after the update we need to restart the services, because they are stopped, and yes, it depends on the user whether they will work or shut down, because they can choose whether to start it manually or automatically.

Windows 8 / 8.1 seems to be missing some necessary things. The solution is to install Microsoft Essentials for Windows 8 / 8.1. This adds the .NET platform with all the necessary APIs that allow Wamp to function as designed. You can download Windows Essentials from herE: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/essentials . I have already tested this on several devices, including my laptop and desktop computer with Windows 8 and 8.1. Good luck! :)
