Cannot use ART for Android emulator

I just wanted to try ART ofroidroid 4.4 on my emulator. What I did was create an emulator with the device selected as “Nexus 7” and the target as “Android 4.4” and RAM “512”. Then I started the emulator and booted. Then I went to the "Developer Options" and selected the runtime as ART. After that, the emulator settings began to reboot and continued on the boot screen for a long time (about 1 hour) and could not finish the launch.

Can someone explain to me the cause of this problem.
