Why do Bootstrap functions start with a + sign?

Question

I noticed the + sign preceding the function in bootstrap.js code and wondered what effect this has or is it just for fun?

I think this forces the parser to process the part following + as an expression. You can also read Expression with immediate calling function.

Also check javascript plus sign before function name
