Related books are for Qt4. Qt5 is very different? If so, what would be a good book or set of tutorials to start with?

I don’t think you will have big problems with Qt4 tutorials. General concepts of Qt still exist.

Someone is writing a tutorial series in PyQt5. There are 2 textbooks so far. The latter is available here: http://www.thehackeruniversity.com/2014/01/26/pyqt5-beginner-tutorial-part-2/
I found this guide for PYQT4 very useful (more practical than the official link). It has great examples that cover everything you need for simple interfaces. There should be enough in common between PYQT4 and 5 that this is still relevant.
