Where is Alerts Explorer located in TFS Power Tools 2013?

I am running a TFS client 2013 with Visual Studio 2013, TFS Server 2010 .

I installed TFS Power Tools 2013, but I can not find the warning explorer

How do I open the alert manager or is there some kind of configuration that I am missing?

Edit

I know that in TFS 2012 and 2013 this is part of the product, but I still need functionality when using TFS 2010 with the newer version of Visual Studio. Is there any way to have this functionality? By default, the Project Alerts feature, which is built-in, is useless because it does not provide any control.

I hate being buzzkill, but what you are trying to do will simply not work. The Visual Studio 2013 client does not have a warning browser, even with Power Tools TFS 2013 installed. Why? It seems that they moved this functionality to TFS 2013 web access, so they did not include it in the client version of VS 2013. The VS 2013 client does not have backward compatibility with TFS 2010 regarding alert management.

The warning explorer is a feature of Power Tools TFS 2010. What you need to do is install the Team Explorer Visual Studio 2010 shell ( http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=329 ), and then install Power Tools TFS 2010 on top of this. It will be painful to load the VS2010 shell only for managing alerts, but there is practically no other option. If you are interested, that VS2010 looks the same as VS2010, but it contains only functions for connecting to TFS. It's free ... no license fees, etc.

Microsoft says this is pretty clear, although they use the word β€œmaybe” ... Q: How do I manage alerts when connecting to TFS 2010?

A: The instructions in this section require connecting to TFS 2012 or TFS 2013. If you upgraded from VS 2012 or VS 2013 and connected to TFS 2010, you may need to install Team Explorer 2010 -side to manage alerts stored on TFS 2010.

You can also receive alerts through Visual Studio using the menu. Team> Project Alert. This will allow you to go to your web access to TFS (something like http://tfs:8080/tfs/TFS/PROJECT/_Alerts ).

You don’t need it anymore, this functionality is now included in Team Foundation Server 2012 and 2013.

In the TFS web client, click on your name (top right) and go to "My Alerts" β†’ "User Alerts" β†’ "Other"
