TortoiseSVN lost my author name

I use TortoiseSVN x64 on my laptop with Windows 8.1 x64, accessing a remote server. I was given a username and password to access the repository. After a while using the TortoiseSVN client, I got tired of entering my username and password all the time and checked the "save authentication" checkbox. It seemed like normal.

However, the other day I realized that when I look at the log (TortoiseSVN β†’ Show log), the author is empty in all my commits. The commit message I wrote is shown, but no author. I am not allowed to edit it later to enter my username, I get an error.

I tried another client on another computer, where I did not save my data, and then it worked fine, my username appeared as the author in my message.

I am trying to delete saved credentials from my laptop, but to no avail. I tried to delete the AppData / Roaming / Subversion / auth folder (which was empty anyway), but nothing happens, and as soon as I interact with the repo again, the folder is recreated, as before.

I tried to go to TortoiseSVN β†’ Settings β†’ Saved data, and the Clear button on the Authentication data is disabled there.

I tried to uninstall TortoiseSVN, restart the computer, install it again and check the entire repository again (in another place, but on the same hard drive).

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Has this been a problem for 2 years now. I tried the cleanup cache in APPDATA, but that did not help. In any case, the cache is empty. Due to other problems with my laptop, I cleaned up the hard drives and installed Windows again this week last week, but as soon as I installed TortoiseSVN and checked my first repo, I returned to the same problem. How can he remember this if the hard drive is clean?

Try to remove Tortoise SVN, and then manually remove all registry keys from the registry and then install a new copy. I would recommend TortoiseSVN_ (64bit) _v1.7.7.msi, which is by far the most stable version.
