Scott Davis actually offers a method for finding this in his post in the Grails event model. However, his method will find scripts in only one directory.
Assuming you are on a UNIX system, you can write $ GRAILS_HOME to your directory and run grep "event(" */**.groovy to find all the main scripts that trigger the event.
Here is an example from my Grails 2.3.3 directory.
