How to add a custom domain purchased from goDaddy at parse.com

I created an application / project on parse.com. I use the parsing service. I created a parsing application name that ends with "someName.parseapp.com".

I bought a domain in GoDaddy, which now I want to point to my parsing application, I know that I need to add a CNAME record to GoDaddy, but I'm not sure what it should be (www already exists ...). Can anyone tell me which steps to take?

I have just successfully completed the process by doing the following.

PART A: Redirecting www.yourapp.com to yourapp.parseapp.com

  • Go to GoDaddy Domain Information
  • Click "DNS Zones"
  • Under CNAME, set www to point to your yourapp.parseapp.com
  • In Parse, go to your app → Settings → Hosting
  • In the Host Name field, enter www.yourapp.com

PART B: Forwarding yourapp.com to yourapp.parseapp.com

  • In GoDaddy, create a host entry for yourapp.com to link to 54.85.233.145 and 54.85.226.190 (create two A records) [1]

What is it:)

I had the same problem with Heroku app, I'm sure this is the same process. Try this short tattoo:

I do not have enough reputation to comment on Jirka 's answer , which is the correct answer.

I just wanted to add that this seems to work only for the www host. I tried this with others as "clients", but it did not work (just a full page served by Parse (no errors).

So, if you want a bare domain on the Parse host, you can do it, but in my tests you should have the host name of the application www .yourdomain.com in the "User" section of the Domain Settings.
