How to send two binary files (iPhone and iPad) for the same project in the App Store?

I created a Map application for the iPhone, and I developed the same Map application on the iPad, too, at my client's request. Now I have the same Map application project, but two .ipa files for the iPhone and one more for the iPad.

I have already installed the iPhone version on iTune and show the status of "waiting for review"

1> Now I want to host an iPad application on iTune with the same project name. How can this be achieved?

2> What setting should be done in the plist file and with xib files?

If there is a universal iPhone / iPad application, then in the application store we can see how the iphone and iPad applications have the same project name ... So in my case, what steps should I follow. Plz offers

You cannot download two binary versions of the same application under the same name.

You either need to make a universal application (that is, the iPhone / iPad application in one application), or send it under a different name.

You can send multiple applications from the same Xcode project with multiple targets and edit the package identifier suffix for each target so that each Target has a unique Bundle identifier. You can also change the product name for each target in the build settings so that your applications have different package file names.

Please note that if the iPad version is not sufficiently different (for example, uses only the iPad API) from the iPhone version, it is reported that Apple may reject an almost identical pair of iPhone / iPad applications and ask you to send one Universal Assembly instead.

If you want your iPhone and iPad project to be in the same application, you had to create it that way.

However, if you specifically want a separate application for iPhone and iPad, then you must clearly distinguish the names of each application.

There are many companies that have applications for the iPhone and iPad in the AppStore. Typically, the iPhone application is simply called "appName", and the version of the iPad is usually called "appName for the iPad."

Examples of this are: -

  • Skype and Skype for iPad

  • Ebay and Ebay for iPad

If you want the application to have the same name in iTunes Connect, you need to make it universal.

You can cancel the “pending review” and send your universal binary instead:

Is it possible to reject a binary file that has already been sent for verification? Yes. You are allowed to reject your binary to remove it from Apple browsing the queue when your application is in one of the following iTunes Connect states:

Waiting For Review In Review

To reject your binary, simply click the Reject Binary button. Once the binary has been rejected, you can indicate that you are ready to send another binary via the Application Loader by clicking the Ready-to-download binary button.

Please note that if you reject a binary that is waiting to be viewed, or In the overview, your browsing time will be reset, and you will start from the beginning as soon as you send a new binary.

ITunes Connect Frequently Asked Questions

However, if you absolutely need to have two separate applications, you can create a new application in iTunes Connect and name it, for example, “[your application] for iPad” or “[your application] HD” or something similar to many applications, which you see in the store.

Are there any special reasons why you are not submitting a universal application?

It would be better if it were a universal application.

In itunes Connect, you cannot create / reuse the application name, sku number, package identifier. You can send the universal application as an update.

If you still need multiple applications, you will need to create several applications in itunes to connect with a different name, sku number and bundle-id,

But note that the name of the application installed on the device is what you point to xcode, not itunes connect . So, I think, you could only give such a resemblance.

PS, if you create an application with the details {apps-name, sku number, bundle-identifier} and you also delete the publication, you cannot reuse them again.

So, tell the customer that the best (perhaps only possible) solution is a universal application.
