I have read all the articles on how to edit log messages using TortoiseSVN. I was able to do it very well.
However, I wanted to see if the changes that I made on the server can be seen locally, and the changes I make locally can be seen on the server. This worked when I made changes on the server and viewed them locally. However, the moment I made changes to the edit log message locally, it seems that the changes no longer appear between them.
However, when I go to the "Edit Journal" message, I can see the message ... but it does not appear in the journal. Has anyone else had this problem?
This is what I get when I go for local log editing. note that I added from server to server, and it appears in the editing log locally, but not on the log screen of the http://imgur.com/zljdE1i
Did I miss some update? I tried closing SVN and reopening it, but that didn't help.
UPDATE: it looks like I answered my own question: see the section Changing the journal message and the author of the change log dialog man page
Since TortoiseSVN stores a cache of all journal information, changes made to author and journal messages will only be displayed on a local installation. Other users using TortoiseSVN will still see cached (old) authors and journal messages until they update the journal cache.
So, just right-click in the repository and go to TortoiseSVN> Settings> Log Caching and disable / enable log caching OR in Cached repositories, select the one you want and update.
