Unable to set app icon with transparency in iTunes Connect

iTunes Connect has been updated in the last few days, now when I try to update the application icon (not a screenshot), I get the following error: "Images cannot contain alpha channels or transparencies."

enter image description here

I didn’t have such a problem in the past, did Apple change its leadership to the application icon, or is this possibly a mistake on the new site? If the manual has been changed, is the decision to simply remove any transparency?

Your icon should be without transparency (Alpha Channel) and size 1024 X 1024. It can be in the format of JPEG, JPG or PNG. Refer to apple doc here

I also attached a screenshot for which the size and other specifications for the icon stand out. enter image description here

Here is some cool stuff that will solve this problem.

Step 1 - Open the image of the icon in the preview window. Step 2 - Go to File → Export, you will get a drop-down menu, as shown in the figure below. Step 3 - Uncheck Alpha and Save

Then use the exported image icon. Now it will work.

Remove the transparency from your application icon and try loading the application icon after that ... See here

  • Open the image (1024x1024) with Gimp and go to File → Export
  • Select a file type as a JPEG image and click the "Export" button in the lower right corner.
