Why doesn't Assistant Preview work in Xcode 6?

Sometimes in Xcode 6 Assistant Editor -> Preview stops working.

Only "No Choice" is displayed, even if there are no errors or storyboards.

Why is this happening?

The reason is "?" (question mark) in the name of the project (perhaps there is an error with other characters - did not check it).

You can try to rename the project or just create a new one with the name without "?" in him.

To complete, you need to Kill Xcode from the processes , and then open it again. You can do this using Activity Monitor o CLI. Voila! - Preview works again.

Do not close Xcode while supporting the application. Sometimes closing with CMD + Q also works .

I had a similar problem but it was fixed

You must open the xib file or storyboard in the editor’s helpers. Press the navigation button in the second editor (either in the lower or in the right editor, depending on how you fold the assistant editors) and select "Preview" to view the preview.

I played with Xcode 6 for a while, and sometimes I came across similar problems. I have never used special characters in project or class names, but sometimes this happens.

Now I need to check all ViewControllers at the starting point to see if the assistant editor is working. If not, I just delete the class file and recreate it, it usually fixes the problem.

Hope this can be fixed soon.
