Can I change the icon and name of the Android application in a later release?

It will sound silly, but I want to know if it is possible to change the application logo (icon) and the Android name in my next releases?

Let's say today I am promoting my application on the Android market, and tomorrow I want to change the logo / icon (I know that I should not do this), but is it possible to do this? What about the name of the application?

thanks

Yes, you can change the name and logo whenever you want by changing the android:label and android:logo attribute of your application tag in the AndroidManifest.xml file .

But you cannot change the name of the Package after downloading the application to the playback store.

I got the same question and asked Android Developer Support about it, got an answer as shown below

You can update the icon displayed on Google Play by uploading the updated icon to the Store List tab of the Play console. However, as soon as the application is installed on the device, the icon will be displayed from the graphic resources of the APK, as defined in the manifest property of 'android: icon ='. The icon displayed in the application list in the playback console is also taken from the APK.

To display a different icon, update the icon image file in your APK. To find the location of an existing icon, you can use the manifest property or check the "res" folder of your APK.

Thus, I updated the icon in the application store without resubmitting the application (Note: I already sent a message with the icon changing, so I wanted to know how this can be reflected in the application store icon). Please see screenshots to find those in need.

You can upload your own branded assets, screenshots and videos to emphasize what makes your app stand out. Provide a localized description, add notes about the latest version, etc. You can update the list of stores at any time.

Download instantly publish

In the developer console, you can quickly download and publish the Android application package that is ready for release. The application is a draft until you publish it, and at this time Google Play will make your page and application for your store available to users - your application will appear in store lists for several hours, not weeks.

Once your application is published, you can update it as often as you want: change prices, configuration and distribution parameters at any time, without requiring updating the application binary file.

As you add features or problems with the address code, you can publish the updated binary file at any time. The new version is available almost immediately, and existing customers are informed that the update is ready for download. Users can also accept automatic updates for your application so that your updates are delivered and installed immediately after they are published. You can unpublish your application at any time.

Update

put your image in a transfer folder and set in the manifest file ... how

  <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" > .... </application>

Note:

The 512x512 icon that you upload to the developer's console (when you publish the application) is the one that will be displayed on Google Play. The 36x36, 48x48, 72x72 and 96x96 icons that you put in your folders with available resources will be displayed on the device’s home screen / in the application.

Yes, you can change the name by changing the android: label attribute of your application tag in AndroidManifest.xml. and you can change the application icon, but I would recommend that you add a comment in the “What's New” regarding the new application icon when loading the application. But you cannot change the name of the package after you have downloaded the application in the play store.
