Error /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgdbm . do you find the gdbm library on your system?

The output of the locate command should contain a list of libgdbm.so . If this is not the case, try installing it using the Distro package manager:

To install gdbm , run the following commands:
on ubuntu: apt-get install libgdbm3
On centos / RHEL: yum install gdbm
