Is server runtime configuration necessary to create a web service client with CXF in Eclipse?

When I go to file → new → other → web services → web service client in Eclipse and select “web services runtime”, I see “Apache CFX 2.x” but the shutdown button is disabled and I get the following in dialog box:

"Choose from a list of run-time and deployment servers, or use the default settings."

Do I need to configure a server to create a web service client with CXF in Eclipse?

Yes it is.

The CXF client runs in a "Dynamic Web Project" that requires server runtime. See Link on Eclipse Forums
