Touch the ID tooltip that appears as a portrait in the landscape app only

With the release of the new iPads, I am adding a Touch ID for our next app update. I only have a landscape application that always hides the status bar running on iPhone 5 with iOS 8.

I have a touch ID code that works fine, but a warning only appears if the application was in portrait. Touch screen alarm notification background also displays portrait status bar.

  • Can I even display a warning in the landscape?

  • Is there a way to not display this status bar?

I tried communicating with supportedInterfaceOrientations , but the touch id alert does not seem to care or refer to what the view manager is currently displaying.

This is an iOS 8 bug. I have tested several applications, including Apple’s iTunes Connect application, and they all display it in portrait mode, even if the device is in landscape mode

This issue is fixed in iOS 9.

Update: this is still a problem in iOS 9

Update 2: This is still a problem in iOS10. As @ nicolas-miara said, it looks like Apple expects you to use it only in portrait
