How to show search results in a separate tab or window?

I started using Sublime Text 2 from Notepad ++.

I can’t find a way to show the search results in a separate space (tab, window, sidebar).

In Notepad ++, I had a small window indicating the line where the line was found. Then I could double click to go to the line.

I can not do this in Sublime. I press ctrl + f enter my line and press Find All .

I have an indication that the results of x are found and can go through them, but I cannot open a separate space for them.

Also, the "Find Results" submenu in the "Search" menu is grayed out.

what am I doing wrong?

OK, there are several ways to use sublime search. What you do is search in the current file that you opened CTRL + F.

I think that you want to do this CTRL + Shift + F - then enter a line and click "Find" - the results panel will open in a new window / panel, and you can click the selected results to go to the place in this file.

Searching with CTRL + Shift + F in Sublime 3 will result in search results in separate pane at bottom .

If you want it in the tab along other tabs, and also want to see previous results cached over current, check the button on the left that says - "Use Buffer"

. You will see a button on the left side when you open the Find and Replace panel using the CTRL + Shift + F shortcut.
