How to run cherry pick command using TortoiseGit UI?

  • Open the log in the repository with the target branch extracted.
  • Use the name of the blue branch of the upper left column to select the source branch.
  • Select the commit (s) you want.
  • Right-click and select Cherry. Choose this commit .

Given that the "release" branch is required to select the cherry from the "master" branch, follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit Release Branch

Step 2: Click TostoiseGit โ†’ Show Log

Step 3: Filter Source Filtering Finishes By Selecting Cherry

In the "Log messages" window, select the source branch from which the commits will be selected "Cherry" (ie, the "leading" branch in this example). You can select a branch in the upper left corner of the "Log messages" window (as shown below).

Step 4: Choose Commit To Select Cherry

Finally, select the commits and right-click the context menu to select them.
